Courses 2, 3, 4 and 6 can be customized according to the client's interests (public administration on a small, medium or large scale, health, education, etc.) so that learners can gain language competence (e.g. writing and building vocabulary) within their own field.

Basic Literacy

A course for those who can already speak Friulian and want to learn to read and write.

Course objectives:
understanding the official rules for writing Friulian
learning the grammar of standard Friulian
reading fairly long and complex texts
writing increasingly complex texts, or writing dictated texts with sufficient accuracy
distinguishing texts written using the official writing system from those written using other writing systems
detecting and correcting the most serious errors in written text

Suggested course length: 30 hours
Suggested lesson length: 1.5 hours

Introductory Friulian

A course for non-Friulians, including those whose first language is not Italian.

Course objectives:
familiarity with the structure of spoken Friulian
understanding simple conversation
using single words and simple expressions
using short sentences in basic conversation
recognizing the fundamental elements of the written language
reading simple texts
writing words and simple expressions or short sentences

Suggested course length: 30 hours
Suggested lesson length: 1.5 hours

Advanced Introductory Friulian

A course for those not accustomed to using Friulian but who have had some contact with the language, including those who are already able to understand it reasonably well.

Course objectives:
increasing vocabulary
understanding complex discourses or those on unfamiliar subjects
progressing from passive oral competence to active competence
recognizing the fundamental elements of the written language
reading fairly long texts
writing simple texts

Suggested course length: 30 hours
Suggested lesson length: 1.5 hours

Writing

A course for those who are already very familiar with the spoken language and with the fundamental grammar of standard Friulian, and who want to learn to write correctly.

Course objectives:
detailed understanding of the official rules for writing Friulian
putting writing rules into practice in increasingly complex texts
using tools such as printed and electronic dictionaries and spellcheckers
recognizing texts written using other spelling systems, finding and correcting spelling mistakes

Suggested course length: 20 hours
Suggested lesson length: 1 hour

Course for Language Professionals

A course for language professionals with specialized skills in Friulian, usually combined with the Writing Course.

Course objectives:
learning the fundamental differentiating characteristics of the varieties of Friulian
writing using accurate spelling
writing using sufficiently accurate syntax and style
learning basic concepts of language planning
learning the fundamental elements of the legislation safeguarding linguistic minorities

Suggested course length: 40 hours
Suggested lesson length: 2 hours

Creative Writing

A course for those who are already familiar with the spoken and written language, who have already taken other courses, and who want an opportunity to write in Friulian.

Course objectives:
analysis and understanding of various types of writing
increasing vocabulary
increasing confidence in writing and spelling
writing texts in various literary genres

Suggested course length: 20 hours
Suggested lesson length: 1.5 hours

Translation

A course leading to the practice of translation.

Course objectives:
introduction to the theoretical difficulties of translation
the translation of literary texts: analysis and practice
the translation of specialized technical writing: analysis and practice
the translation of popular technical writing: analysis and practice
the translation of communications texts: analysis and practice
the translation of specialized technical writing: analysis and practice
document evaluation and editing

Suggested course length: 40 hours
